Napoleon III and Eugenie (1852-1870), Napoleon III, nephew of Napoleon Bonaparte, was president and second emperor of France (1852-1870). The Napoleon III period took elements from all previous styles, using ebony, chestnut, pear, walnut, blackwood, porcelain, mother-of-pearl, ivory and bronze decorations.
